Combat oily skin

When there's an increase in humidity (all my east coasters can relate) your skin tends to get really oily. So what do you do?

Well there's several options:
-Use a toner (tightens pores)
-Oil blotting sheets (easily blots off oil on-the-go)
-Use a cleansing mask (tightens pores, deeper cleansing)
-Wash your face daily with a gentle cleanser (gives skin a fresh feeling, removes excess dirt)
-Use a gentle exfoliator 2-3x a week (deep cleanses skin)

There are many more options, but these are the most practical, in my opinion. Choosing whichever option that best fits your schedule and lifestyle is essential because you want to make sure you can commit to the change.

Products to avoid are anything alcohol-based because they strip the skin of natural oils causing it to produce TWICE as much oil. Skin actually needs to have some sort of lubrication on the surface, but excessive oil is unnecessary and is a sign that you aren't taking proper care of your face.

Washing your face daily with a gentle cleanser is essential even if you don't wear makeup because dirt and oil can clog your pores which will lead to much oilier skin.
-Wash in the morning because when you sleep the oil from your hair can get onto your face when you toss and turn.
-Wash in the night time before you sleep because your face actually encounters a lot in a day, even if it's not noticeable.

Currently, I use a clarifying mask that helps lift away dirt on my skin while keeping it smooth with tighter pores. I don't use it everyday, only when I feel my skin is really oily. I also use an exfoliater that I apply twice a week to give my skin the deep cleansing it needs since I wear makeup most days. This doesn't feel harsh at all against my skin (I have sensitive skin.)

Remember: DON'T over wash your face. Over washing can lead to overproduction of oil. My daily routine consists of a regular face wash which I use in the morning and night only. The clarifying mask is used when necessary and the exfoliator is only twice a week.

I hope this helps!

Good luck & Stay maganda <3
