Dry skin?

So the winter's passed, but the winds are still here from time to time. Elements from the outdoors take a toll on your skin over time, some more than others. Lack of sleep and an unhealthy diet can also cause your skin to look dull. But all hope is not lost because there are solutions to this common skin issue, and you don't have to see a dermatologist to get this advice either.

If you suffer from dry skin, you should make sure you have these two things -  an exfoliator and moisturizer .

Exfoliators help to remove dead skin cells on the topmost layer of skin, which will give way for the glowing, unexposed layer of skin to come through. By revealing this "new" skin, you are almost immediately graced with softer, brighter skin. Depending on the how severely dry your skin is, the frequency of your exfoliating routine will vary. If your skin doesn't dry often, opt for exfoliating twice a week (on average). If your skin tends to get dry faster and more often, you may exfoliate 3 or 4 times a week (on average). How often you exfoliate really depends on your skin, so make sure you really know your skin in terms of sensitivity, oiliness, or dryness. This way you'll pick the best possible regime to follow.
Keep in mind that exfoliating too much will dry your skin out more than what you originally started with, in other words, you'll be going backwards in terms of results.

Moisturizer is a supplemental product meaning it helps to give us the necessary hydration we need on our face and body. Moisture is lost throughout the day during our daily activities and exposure to the elements. Using moisturizer daily (morning and night) will keep skin feeling soft and looking healthy. Some moisturizers also have SPF included in them, which protects your skin from the sun. This is necessary when you have dry skin because it will help prevent the top layer of skin (the layer under the dead skin cells) from cracking. If you've just exfoliated, it's very important to moisturize because you need to baby the "new layer" of skin that was hiding under the dead skin cells.

With these two things part of your new routine, you'll be on your way to healthier, brighter skin in no time. Say "bye-bye" to the dull, dry, flaky skin once and for all!

Good luck & Stay Maganda <3
